Senior Account Manager


Upside Endeavors is looking for a Senior Account Manager to join their team to assist in business development efforts.

We are looking for a seasoned Account Manager with a proven track record of selling medical communication offerings, particularly high-volume medical communication/education services to pharmaceutical and biotech companies. The Account Manager will be responsible for all activities related to the successful implementation of a yearly sales/business plan. The candidate shall demonstrate the ability to define and identify new product and customer opportunities based on market needs.

We are looking for someone with high-energy who is self-motivated and excels in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment. The individual will drive the end-to-end effort to secure new business, from targeting opportunities and qualifying prospects, through developing proposals and closing business. The person will be supported by a talented staff that will assist in strategy and capabilities presentations when appropriate. The ideal candidate is self-driven, results-oriented and comfortable in dealing with senior pharmaceutical executives and key opinion leaders.

 

Responsibilities

  • Identify and establish new business through networking at major pharmaceutical/biotechnology companies.
  • Take the lead in client presentations and the development of proposals, applying excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Collaborate with a client service team to develop cutting-edge programs, overseeing this process from creation to execution.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree with 5-10+ years relevant job experience in account services in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and/or healthcare sales/marketing/agency environment
  • Demonstrated success in business development
  • A change agent with a vision - this person has the opportunity to take the agency in a new direction.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ACCME guidelines, OIG and FDA regulations regarding on- and off-label promotion
  • Preferred - experience with relevant therapeutic areas such as Primary Care/Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Psychiatry, Neurology, Endocrinology, Oncology/Hematology, Gastroenterology, Pediatrics and Pulmonary
  • Domestic and International Travel as needed
